It's a pretty fun and killer song to vibe to. The combination of its darkly sad lyrics mixed with the almost optimistic mood of the instrumentals is somewhat the perfect image of casual nihilism -- somewhat.
Yeah, seven times I left the world in heracy,
I woulda noticed but I killed it in my sleep,
And it took you seven glances just to notice me,
I'm not quiet, I'm not broken, but it's all a mystery.
Nobody knows,
How long I've been waiting for death,
Nobody knows,
How long I've been waiting for death.
Yeah, this night ain't any different from the other ones you've seen,
A little girl in plastic and abandoned courtesy,
And this heart, no it ain't broken, I noticed it last night,
As you walked out of the bar with a man on your side.
Oh this whiskey,
Everyday and every night,
Oh these pills,
Everyday and every night,
Make me feel,
Like I'm running out of light,
Like I'm running out of light and state of mind.
Well I packed my pipe with rum,
And I only left you some,
So we got no time to waste,
Cuz I ain't livin' if I ain't drunk.
Nobody knows,
How long I've been waiting for death,
Nobody knows,
How long I've been waiting for death.
So we've got some troubled times at last in Roanoke,
Yeah I spent my summer there but I'm not meant to call it home,
And for the record I was just about to run away from home,
But these jeans is gritted too, and this mind ain't meant to roam.
And you said you can't believe,
How I could just choose to be mean,
But you caught me in the deep,
It won't last, I'll be down on my knees.
Oh this whiskey,
Everyday and every night,
Oh these pills,
Everyday and every night,
Make me feel,
Like I'm running out of light,
Like I'm running out of light and state of mind.
And you said you think you're ready,
To be an actress, well I said,
Life's just a rolling movie and
We're all waiting for the credits.
Nobody knows,
How long I've been waiting for death,
Nobody knows,
How long I've been waiting for death.
Nobody knows,
How long I've been waiting for death,
Nobody knows,
How long I've been waiting for death.
